The District Rural Development Agency of Ri-Bhoi and Block Mission Management Unit of Nongpoh observed International Women’s Week in Nongpoh.
This celebration was also a part of the recognition of the immense contribution and effort in the implementation of the national rural employment guarantee scheme (MGNREGS) in Meghalaya.
Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, Arpit Upadhayaya, was the chief guest in the presence of various senior officials. The programme was also attended by women’s groups, villagers, headmen and others.
Upadhyaya also awarded mementos to five women Village Employment Council functionaries and eight individuals from different villages for their successful implementation of schemes under MGNREGS.
