All open market dealers have been directed to display the stock and price list of all essential items in their respective shops daily.
The East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) in an order today said over -charging of prices or tampering of the printed price (Maximum Retailed Price) of essential commodities, both packed and loose items, is strictly prohibited.
Further, a proper and genuine cash memo should be issued to the customer. Hoarding and black marketing of essential commodities are strictly prohibited.
The DC has also directed all non-tribal traders to have a valid trading license from the concerned authority. Dealers of food items should have a valid FSSAI License from the office of the Food Safety Officer and that coins of all denominations should be accepted by all dealers.
“Action as per rules of law applicable would be taken against anyone found indulging in any form of malpractices etc,” the DC warned.
