Shillong, Aug 27: Meghalaya has been conferred the runner-up award in Small State Category for overall implementation of PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.
The award was presented at the two-day PMFME Conclave held in New Delhi on Aug 24-25.
Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) COO Ronald Kynta and State Mission Manager – Non-Farm Livelihoods Rinky Kyndait received the award on behalf of the state from Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan.
The conclave brought together financial institutions, incubation centres and SHG networks to discuss credit, incubation and ODOP-led cluster development.
Officials said the recognition reflects state’s efforts in mobilising SHGs and supporting micro food processing units.
