Shillong, Aug 27: Meghalaya Schools Welfare Development Association has submitted a memorandum to School Education Secretary TK Anil Kumar, flagging long-pending grievances of in-service teachers over the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) programme.
The association said issues relating to 2013-15, 2015-17 (offline) and 2017-19 (online) batches remain unresolved despite repeated representations since 2019.
It cited teachers marked ‘absent’ despite appearing, mismatch in mark sheets showing pass in one and fail in another, non-reflection of internal assessment and practical marks, unchanged marks despite reappearing 3-4 times, discrepancies in optional codes 509/510, and non-receipt of original mark sheets and certificates.
MSWDA President HM Marbaniang said the matter was discussed with the state Education Department on August 19, which advised them to pursue with the Centre. The body has submitted records to NIOS Headquarters and Guwahati Regional Centre.
The association urged the Ministry to rectify records, issue pending documents, and ensure teachers do not face adverse service consequences due to administrative errors.
