There were just 118 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the whole of Meghalaya today, the lowest single-day figure this month. There were also 214 recoveries and four fatalities.
Two of the deaths were in East Khasi Hills and two in West Jaintia Hills. All four were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 63 new cases today, West Jaintia Hills 24, West Khasi Hills 10 and 21 between the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 128 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 24, West Jaintia Hills 18, Ri-Bhoi 16, West Garo Hills 10, East Jaintia Hills 10 and eight between the other five districts.
There are now 1,813 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 831 active cases, West Khasi Hills 365, West Jaintia Hills 220, Ri-Bhoi 156, South West Khasi Hills 96, West Garo Hills 77, East Jaintia Hills 31, East Garo Hills 12, North Garo Hills 12, South West Garo Hills 10 and South Garo Hills three.
In all, Meghalaya has had 78,133 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,813 are active, 74,964 have recovered and 1,356 have died from the virus. The recovery rate increased to 95.94 percent. The fatality rate rose to 1.74 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases declined to 158.86 (the lowest since April 24) and stayed level for new deaths at 3.86.
