East Khasi Hills today recorded its 48,000th Covid-19 case with the addition of one new infection today.
With one recovery recorded in EKH, one in Ri-Bhoi and one in West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya now has two active cases (both in EKH), of which one requires hospitalisation.
The state has logged a total of 96,959 Covid cases since the outbreak began in 2020, with 1,628 deaths. Just under 14.41 lakh coronavirus tests have been carried out.
