Shillong, Aug 10: PRIME Meghalaya incubatee Angie Shirhabs inaugurated its first retail outlet in Nongthymmai on Monday, marking its expansion from Riangdo, West Khasi Hills to Shillong’s urban market.
Founded in 2022 by Angielorita Iawphniaw, the food-processing and FMCG enterprise make products using local produce including strawberry, sohiong and mulberry juices, squash, jams, bamboo shoot and king chilli pickles, ginger powder, gooseberry candy, and its flagship chicken pickle.
Speaking at the launch, Iawphniaw credited PRIME Meghalaya and the state government for support in mentorship, branding, and operations. She was selected under CM’s e-Championship 5.0 and received a Rs 1 lakh grant.
The enterprise’s revenue grew from Rs 0.50 lakh in FY 2022-23 to Rs 3.5 lakh in FY 2025-26. It now serves customers in Riangdo, Nongstoiñ, Mairang and Shillong, and employs three people directly.
Officials said the expansion reflects PRIME Meghalaya’s role in building market-ready local businesses.
