There were just 138 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the whole of Meghalaya today but also six further fatalities. There were also 226 recoveries.
The seven-day average of new cases dropped to 178.29, the lowest this number has been since April 30. The average fatalities have risen to 3.86, putting it at a nine-day high point.
Four of the deaths were in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi and one in West Garo Hills. All six were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 66 new cases today, Ri-Bhoi 18, West Jaiñtia Hills 16, West Khasi Hills 15, West Garo Hills 11 and 12 between the other six districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 88 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 50, Ri-Bhoi 27, West Jaiñtia Hills 23, South West Khasi Hills 20, West Garo Hills 13 and five between the other five districts.
There are now 1,913 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 898 active cases, West Khasi Hills 379, West Jaiñtia Hills 216, Ri-Bhoi 168, South West Khasi Hills 98, West Garo Hills 79, East Jaiñtia Hills 38, East Garo Hills 14, North Garo Hills 11, South West Garo Hills 10 and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 78,015 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,913 are active, 74,750 have recovered and 1,352 have died from the virus. The recovery rate increased to 95.81 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases declined to 178.29 and rose for new deaths to 3.86.
