Khliehriat, Oct 8: The observance of Wildlife Week 2025 in East Jaintia Hills, with the theme ‘Human-Animal Coexistence’, ended today.
The concluding function was held by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Jaintia Hills Wildlife Division, Jowai, at Khliehriat West Community Hall.
The event saw attendance by Divisional Forest Officer N Laloo, other dignitaries, teachers and students, uniting to foster wildlife conservation and harmony between humans and animals.
Over the week, competitions were held for students from East Jaintia Hills’ educational institutions. Events were at two centres – Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat, and Good Shepherd Higher Secondary School, Ladrymbai. Students took part actively, displaying creativity and awareness on wildlife conservation.
