Inter-college talent hunts College Ke Tashanbaaz made its mark in Shillong, bringing together the city’s brightest college talents in a celebration of creativity and competition.
Part of a nationwide event spanning 33 cities and reaching over 300 colleges, this platform offered students the chance to showcase their talents in various categories, from singing and dancing to stand-up comedy and spoken word.
The grand finale of Red FM’s College Ke Tashanbaaz concluded yesterday at Seng Khasi College, with Ace Merakis, a dance group from Shillong Commerce College, winning the coveted title of Tashanbaaz of 2024.
The competition, which saw Red FM visit 10 colleges across Shillong, selected two top finalists from each institution to compete for the prize, showcasing a wide range of talents.
Ace Merakis wowed the judges and audience alike, walking away with the grand prize of Rs 11,000. First Color Lathong, a solo instrumental performer from St Anthony’s College, bagged the Boom Boom Boomer Special Prize.
The event was graced by musician Aiborlang Marbaniang, guitarist and member of popular Shillong bands Still Status, Awakening and Fireflood, along with Bahun Marwein, a singer-songwriter and lecturer in economics, who served as judge for the competition.
In addition to the entertainment, the event featured a short awareness session on HIV/AIDS concerns by the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society (MACS), drawing attention to an important social issue.
