Shillong, Jul 25: Lady Keane College celebrated its foundation day on the theme “Building Tomorrow with 91 Years of Legacy,” marking nine decades of academic excellence and women empowerment.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui congratulated the college for shaping generations of women leaders and contributing to education in Meghalaya and the Northeast. He urged students to stay focused, disciplined and use technology responsibly while safeguarding mental well-being.
Director of Higher & Technical Education H.B.D. Sangma called the institution a “beacon of excellence” and encouraged students to embrace innovation, AI, critical thinking and entrepreneurship alongside academics. She also lauded faculty and alumni for supporting higher education reforms.
The minister released the college magazine, Keanean Journal of Arts, and the Annual History Magazine. Awards were presented to meritorious students, faculty and cells for achievements in research, academics, fashion design, PWD initiatives, and co-curricular activities.
