Shillong, Apr 16: As part of the Rani Laxmi Bai Atma Raksha Prashikshan, the office of the District Mission Coordinator, SSA West Jaintia Hills has launched self-defense training for girl students in schools.
The aim is to equip girls with the confidence needed to prepare and respond effectively to unsafe situations. The training will run for three months, from April to June and will be conducted in selected schools at the Upper Primary and Secondary Levels.
The training is being conducted as per the directives of the Ministry of Education, Government of India and has been entrusted to West Jaintia Hills Karate Do Association (WJHKA), Jowai, a recognised training body committed to promoting martial arts and self-defense.
The training is being led by experienced WJHKA instructors Na O Mankiwi War Passah (2nd Dan Black Belt), Ribait O Pde (1st Dan Black Belt) along with Patsha Chyrmang and other members of the association, who are actively supporting the successful implementation of the initiative in the district.
