Shillong, Apr 29: Transporters have been warned from using the Amlarem-Muktapur road following the collapse of a section of an old retaining wall.
The Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Amlarem Sub Division in an order said the area poses significant safety risks which necessitate immediate actions to protect public welfare.
Transporters and stakeholders are urged to comply with this restriction to ensure safety and prevent any further damage.
The restrictions will remain in effect until the necessary restoration work is completed.
“In the interest of public safety and to prevent further damage, the movement of all heavy vehicles on the affected stretch has been prohibited,” stated the order.
The restriction will remain in force until restoration work is completed and the road is declared safe for use, the SDO informed.
