The Dorbar Shnong Rapleng has imposed various restrictions against littering in the area by tourists and passersby.
Sordar of Rapleng, M Lyngdoh at a press conference today informed that the village has banned burning of forest, destruction of farmlands and aquatic lives and other illicit activities within its jurisdiction. Videography in the area will also now require permission, he added.
“Whenever people come to our place, be it local or tourists from outside the state, they should remember to respect the environment and our village and not litter and break bottles, etc and cause any destruction to Mother Nature, rivers and the farmlands,” he said.
He said such activities will not be tolerated. Signboards have been erected for visitors to follow the rules, and dustbins to throw garbage while volunteers have been selected to monitor any unwanted activities, he added.
