Night curfew in East Khasi Hills appears to have been relaxed by one hour, according to the latest order by the Deputy Commissioner.
According to today’s notice, night curfew will apply in the district from 8pm to 5am daily, with a total curfew on Sundays. Previously, curfew began at 7pm.
However, the DC noted that many vehicles without passes have been found on the roads during curfew and some there have been a few incidents where vehicles have been seen to be misusing essential services passes, including those of the government. The DC warned that strict action will be taken against these violators.
