The Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge of Mairang Civil Sub-Division has warned pharmacies not to sell drugs without prescription, after many Covid patients were found to be under self-medication before reaching hospitals late in life threatening condition.
In a letter to all pharmacies under in Mairang, the ADC said symptoms of the Coronavirus are similar to that of flu and cold, which people would go for over-the-counter medicines.
“Therefore to help such patients get quick medical help while also undergoing tests, it should be the moral responsibility of all pharmacies not to sell medicines without prescription,” the ADC said.
While urging pharmacies to work hand in hand with the government in its fight against Covid-19, the ADC warned that any pharmacy found selling drugs without prescription will be shut down and license seized.
