There were two new Covid-related fatalities in Meghalaya today, as well as 93 new cases and 122 recoveries.
The seven-day rolling average of new deaths thus rose to 2.29, its highest level in October.
One death was in East Khasi Hills and the other in West Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 47 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 37 and nine between the other nine districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 63 recoveries, West Jaintia Hills 34, West Khasi Hills 13 and 12 between the other eight districts.
There are now 1,021 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 533 active cases, West Khasi Hills 313, West Jaintia Hills 78, Ri-Bhoi 46, West Garo Hills 17, South West Khasi Hills 15, East Garo Hills nine, East Jaintia Hills five, South West Garo Hills two, South Garo Hills two and North Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 82,580 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,021 are active, 80,134 have recovered and 1,425 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.04 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 89.29 and for new deaths is 2.29.
