Shillong, Jul 31: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma yesterday inaugurated the new building of Resubelpara Government Higher Secondary School and the office building of the Executive Engineer Public Works Department (Roads) Resubelpara Division.
Addressing the gathering, Sangma said the commissioning of the additional building of the school “will ensure students have access to quality education and quality infrastructure”.
He apprised that the government is committed to improve the overall educational scenario of the state and therefore has sanctioned Rs 700 crore for upgradation and renovation of the existing school infrastructure.
The PWD building, he added, will enable the department to execute better planning and monitoring of road development projects, which will benefit the people of the area.
Deputy Speaker and Resubelpara MLA Timothy D Shira, cabinet minister Marcuise Marak and other MLAs and officials of the district administration attended the programme.
