Shillong, Oct 31: North Shillong MLA Adelbert Nongrum on Friday said development should not be measured only by infrastructure, but by how a constituency values its people.
Speaking as chief guest at ‘LAURELS’, a felicitation programme for over 700 achievers from North Shillong, Nongrum said love, mutual respect and equality are key to preserving peace in Meghalaya.
More than 700 individuals — including 400 senior citizens, 50 meritorious students, 30 sportspersons and 90 others in various categories — were honoured at the programme held at Jaiaw Shyiap and Lumpyllon Community Hall.
The programme was organised by the 17th North Shillong Assembly Constituency Committee on the theme “The Pride of Our Constituency and the Voices of the Families”.
