I would like to refute the derogatory remarks addressed in your esteemed daily on the Letter to the Editor column on 13/11/2023 by one “S Singhania” who is all out to tarnish our family name in Shillong who are permanent residents for the last 150 years without any blemish on our family. This letter is just to create animosity between different communities of different faiths for his selfish and ulterior interest.
Right from 1897 when the great earthquake rocked Shillong and razed both private and government buildings to the ground, under such circumstances my great grandfather did yeoman service and helped people by extending all possible help. Since then there are instances galore which speak for themselves.
Taking cognisance of this letter we are filing an FIR against the one “S Singhania” who is not at all related to our family and is tarnishing the name of the Singhanias in Shillong.
