The 100 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya frontier organised a civic action programme at the border outpost in Dalu, West Garo Hills district today.
Commandant of the battalion, Ajay Kumar Tiwari attended the programme.
The event commenced with a 3 km marathon participated by students from the bordering schools. The marathon aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and community spirit among the youth.
As part of the initiative to encourage sportsmanship, bicycles and sports items were distributed to the winners of the marathon.
This gesture not only recognizes the talent and effort of the participants but also emphasises the force’s commitment to fostering a positive environment for the development of local youth, the BSF said.
The program was also attended by local headmen and villagers, who expressed their gratitude to the BSF in supporting the educational and physical well-being of the students.
