The Meghalaya Assembly is harnessing artificial intelligence to transcribe the proceedings of the house.
The chief reporter of the Assembly Secretariat, Arnica Lyngdoh, in coordination with IT cell computer programmer Dapborlang Marwein, has spearheaded the initiative to revolutionise the reporting process within the Assembly for enhancing efficiency and accuracy, a press release stated today.
The collaboration between the reporter’s branch and the IT cell has yielded remarkable results, the release added.
The implementation of Al is expected to significantly expedite the reporting process, reduce errors and provide legislators with more timely and accurate information.
Marwein informed that the reporter’s module, which is a part of the NeVA (National e-Vidhan Application) project, has been implemented during the ongoing Autumn session of the Assembly.
Assembly Speaker, Thomas Sangma, has reportedly expressed his satisfaction with the new AI tool, emphasising its invaluable assistance to the Assembly’s reporters and its significant acceleration of the transcription process for house proceedings.
