Shillong, Jun 14: A wild elephant damaged a kitchen, household utensils and an attached storeroom at Joyfar village under Betasing block in South West Garo Hills late on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 11pm at the residence of Ketaki Hajong. The house is occupied by six members, including two adults and four minors. No injuries were reported and all family members are safe, officials confirmed.
Authorities said no immediate relief assistance is required at present. Concerned departments are assessing the extent of the damage to determine further action.
