The Association of Persons with Disabilities (APD), Ri-Bhoi, celebrated International Day of Disabled Persons at Umsning with a small and colourful function day.
Tambor Lyngdoh, one of the well-known persons in the state graced the occasion as the chief guest in the presence of APD Ri-Bhoi president, Bluetisha Nongbet, adviser Cornelius Laloo and members and leaders of the association.
The day was also used as an occasion for a pre-Christmas celebration and was followed by a prayer meeting where a special prayer was also offered for the departed soul of ex-president Ronald Malai, who passed away last year on December 12.
Nongbet expressed her gratitude to all the members and leaders and the people who supported the association. However, she also expressed great concern that the state government has not provided special aid for the disabled during the Covid-19 pandemic.
