West Khasi Hills logged 133 new Covid-19 cases today, which was more than half of Meghalaya’s total of 254. There were also 222 recoveries and four fatalities statewide today.
Three deaths were in East Khasi Hills and the other in South West Garo Hills. Three out of the four were unvaccinated people, the Health Department informed.
West Khasi Hills recorded 133 new cases today, East Khasi Hills 81, West Garo Hills 15, West Jaintia Hills 10 and 15 between the other seven districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 82 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 50, South West Khasi Hills 28, Ri-Bhoi 25, West Jaintia Hills 18 and 19 between the other six districts.
There are now 2,234 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,097 active cases, West Khasi Hills 438, Ri-Bhoi 201, West Jaintia Hills 187, South West Khasi Hills 141, West Garo Hills 82, East Jaintia Hills 46, East Garo Hills 21, South West Garo Hills 11, North Garo Hills five and South Garo Hills five.
In all, Meghalaya has had 77,021 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,234 are active, 73,458 have recovered and 1,329 have died from the virus. The recovery rate dipped to 95.37 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases dropped marginally to 202.86 and fell for new deaths to 3.29.
