There were 211 new cases of Covid-19 in Meghalaya today, along with 192 recoveries and seven fatalities.
Four deaths were in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi, one in West Jaiñtia Hills and one in West Khasi Hills. Six of the seven were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 113 new cases today, West Jaiñtia Hills 25, Ri-Bhoi 24, South West Khasi Hills 22, West Khasi Hills 15 and 12 among the other six districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 137 recoveries, Ri-Bhoi 23 and 32 among the other nine districts.
There are now 2,275 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,203 active cases, West Khasi Hills 312, Ri-Bhoi 252, West Jaiñtia Hills 199, South West Khasi Hills 116, West Garo Hills 93, East Jaiñtia Hills 43, East Garo Hills 20, South West Garo Hills 19, South Garo Hills 10 and North Garo Hills eight.
In all, Meghalaya has had 76,311 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,275 are active, 72,714 have recovered and 1,322 have died from the virus. The recovery rate dipped marginally to 95.29 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases declined to 213.43 and went back up for new deaths to 4.00.
