The office of Governor Satya Pal Malik today gave assent to the list of names for the new Executive Committee of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
The names of the new EC members in the National People’s Party-led administration were earlier sent to the District Council Affairs Department and the Governor for approval.
The list was sent by the Chief Executive Member, Benedict Marak, with the lone Garo National Council MDC, Nikman Ch Marak, named as Deputy CEM.
Other names in the EC were Nathwal S Marak, rebel Bharatiya Janata Party councillor Promod Koch, Dormonath Sangma, Arbinstone Marak, Crozier G Momin, Henen Sangma, Anseng Sangma, Sengbath Marak and Grahambell Sangma.
Portfolios for the EC members are likely to be notified soon.
