Shillong, Sep 11: A one-day summit on entrepreneurship titled, ‘E-Merge’ was organised by the Department of Commerce, St. Anthony’s College Shillong in collaboration with the St. Anthony’s College Center for Entrepreneurship Innovation and Incubation Cell (SACCEII).
The aim of the vent was to bridge academics and real-world businesses.
Participants from ten colleges gained valuable insights from the life experiences shared by the entrepreneurs.
As part of the summit, a panel discussion on the topic, “Re-imagining the Role of Academia in Entrepreneurial Education” was held with panelists drawn from academics, policy makers and entrepreneurs.
Additionally, an inter-college competition, “The Business in a Box”, designed to ignite and enhance the entrepreneurial skills of the students was held. Lady Keane College emerged as the winner of the competition, followed by Synod College in second place and St. Anthony’s College secured the third position.
Sohra MLA Gavin M. Mylliem attended the event as the chief guest and Prof. Teidorlang Lyngdoh of IIM Shillong delivered the keynote address.
