Shillong, Aug 18: The East Khasi Hills District Police felicitated two Good Samaritans —Samborlang Diengdoh and Anthony Nongkhlaw — for supporting Shillong Traffic Police in promoting road safety and responsible road-user behaviour.
The ceremony also honoured 17 traffic personnel and 24 Home Guard volunteers, including 12 women, for their dedication and service.
Each awardee received a Certificate of Appreciation and cash incentive.
Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem commended their professionalism and urged personnel to remain courteous and respectful, while being firm, fair and impartial in enforcing traffic laws.
The event reflects the joint commitment of police and community towards safer roads and stronger traffic discipline, a press release said.
