Shillong, Aug 18: William Carey University observed Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to 18 with awareness programmes, competitions and cultural activities aimed at promoting a safe and inclusive campus.
Events held during the week included essay writing, slogan writing, poster making, quiz, debate, stage plays, reels competition and screenings of short films and documentaries on anti-ragging.
The valedictory function on Tuesday was attended by retired Prof. OP Singh of NEHU, Ombudsperson of the Grievance Cell, as special guest. He stressed the need for collective responsibility to eradicate ragging and urged students to uphold dignity and mutual respect.
