Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, and Chemicals and Fertilisers, made her maiden visit to West Khasi Hills to review the implementation of central schemes.
Patel was welcomed by Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes and other civil servants.
During her visit, Patel inspected several projects, including the Jal Jeevan Mission at Khyllem Tiehsaw village, where she expressed satisfaction with the project’s implementation, noting that every household had received water connections.
She also visited Sohpian village to review MGNREGS works and PMAY-G projects. A review meeting was held at the DC’s office to discuss the progress of central schemes in the district.
Patel emphasised that the North East is a top priority for the central government, citing the region’s strategic importance and growth potential.
