With the aim of improving financial access and empowering farmers in rural areas, the Nongpoh branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) organised its ‘Agri Loans Awareness Week’ at Marngar village.
Today’s programme was attended by Nikhil Singh, chief manager of SBI Nongpoh branch; Abhijeet Dutta, regional manager of SBI Shillong region; and Samir Kant Jha, deputy general manager of the SBI administrative office Shillong, along with several local youths from the Marngar area.
This event was launched with the objective of educating farmers about timely updating of bank-related documents, enhancing awareness on available agricultural produce financing and disseminating information regarding various government schemes accessible through banking channels.
