Shillong, Aug 26: The Special Judge (POCSO), West Khasi Hills, has sentenced three persons to 20 years rigorous imprisonment each in three separate POCSO cases investigated by Eastern West Khasi Hills Police.
The convicts are Wilphrest Mukhim, Rickynelson Marwein and Brojestar Lyngkhoi — all cases registered at Mairang PS.
Mukhim was awarded 20 years RI and Rs 50,000 fine.
Marwein was sentenced to 20 years RI and Rs 50,000 fine under POCSO and IPC, plus two years simple imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine.
Lyngkhoi was awarded 20 years RI and Rs 50,000 fine with an additional one year simple imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine.
In both latter cases, the sentences will run concurrently.
