Securing seven positions in the top ten list and a 100 per cent pass percentage in the HSSLC Arts stream examination results, St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School had all the more reason to cheer today.
The school secured second, fifth, sixth (three tied students) ninth and tenth positions.
Avelyne Francisca Khriam was second with 449 marks, Arman Suchiang fifth with 439, Talinungsang Imchen, Ankita Das and Ankita Kar joint sixth position with 434, Kelhousanyu Kuotsu ninth with 427 and Riwaka Tangsong tenth with 426.
A total of 143 students had appeared for the exams and all of them cleared the exams.
“Many of our students have got ranks within the first ten. Other students, some stood first, some second and we are proud of all these students who have made us proud today,” said school Principal Br Agnelo Benjamin.
According to the principal, “It is the hard work and dedication of these students over the past two years that has brought them to this position. It is also the hard work, dedication and commitment of our teachers who have worked hard to teach the students, who have identified some of these students who are potential hard workers and made the school proud”.
Meanwhile, second-placed Khriam said, “I am not sure if I was expecting this position but I am grateful for it. Now I am looking forward to going for computer applications and later on I will decide on the area I would like to study more”.
Tenth-placed Tangsong said, “I am really grateful and happy to see that I could bring happiness and smiles on the face of my family and it makes me happy”.
She aspires to be an IAS officer and is determined to walk the extra mile to get there.
