Six new classrooms for students of the Khliehriat East Lower Primary School were inaugurated by East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner, Abhilash Baranwal today.
The classrooms were constructed by the Star Cement under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Rs 33 lakh and 10 per cent contribution from the dorbar shnong.
The DC congratulated the company for its contribution towards upliftment of education. He said education has been the most effective tool in nation building and the district administration is ready to support initiatives to be undertaken for development of education in East Jaintia Hills.
Star company administrative head, Tejbir Singh thanked the dorbar shnong and the CSR team for their support. He also urged parents to inspire their children to pursue higher studies for a bright future.
Management representative, Devander. K. Bansal, Khliehriat East waheh shnong, Kedius Rymbai, secretary Allaudin Lyngdoh, CSR team, teachers and students were also present at the programme.
