The Sohjer ritual is a traditional practice of offering gratitude and reverence to Lei Surnia (a spiritual deity) and honouring the ancestors, seeking their blessings for a bountiful harvest and prosperity. It is also an expression of gratitude to U Blei Nongbuh Nongthaw (the Creator) for the first fruits gathered from agricultural labour.
Following the completion of the Sohjer ritual, the Basan Nongkseh extended his blessings to the people of Raid Marwet, expressing hope that 2025 will be filled with prosperity, well-being and happiness for all members of the Raid.
The general secretary of the Raid Marwet Sohjer Committee, Rajesh Shakwa, expressed his joy and extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants, including the residents, elders and the Syiem of Raid Marwet.
