Sankardev College celebrated the grand finale of its College Week on March 2, bringing an end to a two-week-long event of sports, literature and many other extracurricular activities.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Shakliar Warjri was the chief guest at the event. In his address, he urged the students to imbibe the values of hard work and to adopt a positive mindset in order to face the challenges in life.
The minister felicitated NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets and NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers with citations of appreciation for their social extension activities. Certificates were also awarded to students who completed the college’s certificate courses on learning German and on the manufacture and marketing of indigenous food products. Medals and certificates were also awarded to the winners of the various events held during the College Week.
The skit that won first prize in the inter-college skit competition organised by the Reserve Bank of India, Shillong, as part of the recent Financial Literacy Week, was also performed.
