Meghalaya’s parade tableau trundled down the Kartavya Path during the Republic Day celebrations, showcasing the Cherry Blossoms.
The tableau depicted the Cherry blossom trees, adorned with gently swaying blossoms that created a mesmerizing scene akin to a dreamy springtime paradise. It also showcased the freshwater scuba diving sites along the Umngot River in Dawki.
Moving deeper, the tableau delves into the state’s timeless caves, illuminated by stalactites and stalagmites, adventure sports, zipliners soaring across valleys, and rappellers descending from great heights.
The tableau also highlighted Meghalaya’s rich bioreserve, displaying its flora, and endemic species like the clouded leopard, emphasizing conservation efforts and celebrates community-led cleanliness initiatives in Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village, portraying residents of all ages participating in cleanliness drives, symbolizing unity and dedication to a pristine environment.
These diverse themes intricately weave together, encapsulating Meghalaya’s cultural richness, natural wonders, and communal spirit.
Twenty-six tableau, including 16 from states and union territories trundled down
The Centre had invited people to vote for their favourite tableau from states, central government ministries and marching contingents which was open till 5 am today.
Meghalaya had garnered 1361 votes. Haryana got the highest votes with 31, 987 for showcasing ‘Mera Parivar – Meri Pehchan’.
