Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today said that legendary industrialist Ratan Tata has touched many lives and transformed the industry due to his humility and philanthropy.
Expressing his sadness over the demise of the 86 year old industrialist at a Mumbai hospital yesterday, Sangma in a video message said, “He was of course a very well known figure not just of how he transformed the industry, the Tata group but also for all his philanthropic works and specially his kindness to people.”
According to Sangma, Tata was a man of kindness, humility and simplicity.
“Through he had never directly come in touch with us during his lifetime, Ratan Tata had touched many lives in Meghalaya also,” Sangma said while mentioning the Meghalaya Baby League which was launched by Tata Trusts for the development of football among the youngsters.
He also said that during the Covid pandemic period, people of Meghalaya and other states benefited a lot by the help from the Tata Group.
