The East Khasi Hills District Administration launched a 45-day pre-recruitment coaching and training program for Agniveer candidates (Indian Army) at KJP Synod Girls Higher Secondary School, Mawkhar today.
The program aims to provide guidance to Agniveer candidates for the Common Entrance Examination scheduled for June or July 2025.
The inaugural session was attended by Commissioner & Secretary Cyril VD Diengdoh, Deputy Commissioner Rosetta M Kurbah, Army Recruitment Office Director Col. Vinay Kumar, Additional DC S. Warjri and Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Lt. Col. (Retd) S. Marbaniang.
Diengdoh emphasized the significance of joining the Indian Army, not only as a career option but also as an opportunity for young people to become disciplined, respected, and honourable. He encouraged candidates to attend the coaching and training regularly to enable them to clear both the Common Entrance Exam and Physical Fitness Test.
Col. Vinay Kumar briefed the candidates on Agniveer as a career choice, sharing valuable inputs on selection criteria, syllabus, recruitment process, and benefits.
Kurbah pointed out that the free coaching and training program is a systematic approach by the District Administration to equip candidates with the required knowledge and skills to clear the entrance exams and physical test. She urged candidates to be diligent in attending coaching classes and training.
Candidates who clear the written entrance exams will receive 30 days of intensive physical training.
