The A’chik Students Welfare Association (ASWA) has requested Meghalaya Rural Bank (MRB) to open a branch in Selsella.
The town only has one State Bank of India branch and MRB customers currently have to travel to Garobadha or Tura to access their accounts directly, ASWA said.
The Selsella area has a population of around 30,000 with many businesses coming up in the town and its surroundings, the association said.
