Drawing the curtain on the 20th Annual Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association-India Region Zone III, held at Shillong, a cultural evening entitled ‘Echoes from the Hills of Meghalaya’ was today held at Raj Bhavan here.
Present were Governor of Meghalaya Phagu Chauhan, Speakers and Deputy Speakers from all the North Eastern states, cabinet ministers, senior officials of the state government and armed forces and conference delegates.
The highlight of the evening was a captivating performance showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Meghalaya presented through traditional music, songs, dances and attire.
The programme was organised by the Department of Arts and Culture in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
