Parking of vehicles on any of the bridges along the National Highway 6 in the Lumshnong-Malidor section has been prohibited.
The order passed by the East Jaintia Hills District Magistrate came after vehicles remained parked for long hours on the section at a time when there are landslide and mudslides.
“Most of the bridges on the said section are in need of repair, the parking of vehicles on the bridges might pose a danger to the vehicles parked and may cause untoward incidents,” the order said.
