East Jaintia Hills police arrested a man and recovered 160.36 grams of heroin today.
The accused identified as Kabir Uddin Mazumder.
Police said the person was driving a vehicle bearing registration number ML-04B 9703.
The vehicle was stopped at Umtyra during a naka check at around 11 am. During inspection, 14 soap boxes where found from the accused, which later tested positive of heroin.
A criminal case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been taken up against the person, police said.
