Kynjailin Lyngdoh Mawnai has been officially selected to represent India at the 9th South Asian Karate Championship 2025.
The event will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on July 4-6, the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association (AMKA) announced today. She will take part in the U-21 individual kumite -50kg female category.
Kynjailin secured her well-deserved selection based on her bronze medal-winning performance at the Karate India Organisation (KIO) 4th Senior and U-21 National Karate Championship 2025, held in Hyderabad at the end of March. She was one of only three Meghalaya karatekas to win a medal at that championship.
In 2024 Kynjailin won medals for Meghalaya at national events in Guwahati and Maharashtra as well as in Gujarat in December 2022.
