The National Service Scheme (NSS) units of Iaikyntiew College, Nongthymmai, and St Xavier’s College, Umoid, Mawkyrwat, represented Meghalaya at the North East NSS Festival 2025, held from June 10 to 14 at Dzüü Resort, Kohima, Nagaland.
A total of 30 NSS volunteers and two programme officers from the two colleges participated in the five-day youth festival.
The event, hosted by the NSS Cell of the Nagaland government and supported by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports brought together over 300 NSS volunteers and officers from all eight North East states.
The Meghalaya contingent put on a vibrant performance, showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage through traditional Khasi attire, folk songs and local instruments. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the event.
The participation of Meghalaya’s colleges was coordinated by the State NSS Cell, Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Shillong.
