A collection of NGOs from Selsella have demanded that the authorities see through the criminal case against a suspect believed to have carried out the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl earlier this month.
The victim went missing on October 8 and her body was found two days later. She was a 12-year-old student studying in Class 4, a press release stated today.
Police subsequently arrested the suspect and the NGOs are demanding the strictest punishment for the perpetrator while condemning the crime. They also commended the swift action of the Selsella police. “This achievement underscores the dedication and commitment of our local law enforcement in safeguarding our community,” the release said.
A candlelight vigil was also held on October 12 for the victim and her distraught family.
