Tura MDC Bernard N Marak of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Has alleged that MGNREGA suppliers and vendors are cutting 50 percent of the amount meant for material supply in order to pay off political masters and officials.
“This is the reason why many villages could not complete their works in time,” Marak said today. “I would urge the villagers from whom 50 to 60 percent is being deducted by the suppliers and vendors to report immediately to my office and we will file an FIR against those who are depriving the villagers.”
He also said that these corrupt practices will be reported to the Chief Minister’s office and Deputy Commissioners’ offices.
