Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan today handed over 124 appointment letters to candidates selected for the central armed forces from Meghalaya at the Rozgar Mela held in Shillong today.
In his address, Paswan congratulated the appointees and said, “I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to prepare for and secure a job. There is no greater joy than receiving the appointment letter after such efforts.”
He commended the Prime Minister’s vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat and acknowledged the strides made in infrastructure development, particularly in the North-East. “In the last 10 years, the Prime Minister has transformed India through initiatives like Make in India, Start-up India, Digital India, and others. In every sector, including rail, road, and infrastructure, the North-East has received special attention and care,” he said.
Reflecting on Shillong’s unique charm the minister said he was captivated by how vibrant Meghalaya is. “I believe Shillong will continue to shine and flourish in the future.”
He extended Christmas wishes to all present and lauded the efforts of CRPF and other departments.
CRPF Inspector General of the North Eastern Sector, Danesh Rana said the appointees from Meghalaya will join the BSF, CRPF, Assam Rifles, Railways, SBI, and ITBP.
Highlighting the critical role of security forces, he remarked, “CRPF, BSF, and Assam Rifles are working together to maintain law and order, counter insurgency, and safeguard borders. Together, these organisations sustain peace and contribute to national security.”
The programme also featured testimonies from appointees, who shared their journey and expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the government.
Earlier during the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 71,000 appointment letters to successful candidates selected for various positions in different departments across the country via videoconferencing.
