The Jaintia National Council (JNC) has urged petrol pump stations to support the youth of the region by providing jobs.
The employment commission of the JNC today met the manager of petrol pumps in Mookhep and Lad Jalyiah in East Jaiñtia Hills district with an appeal to hire local youths from the area.
JNC vice president Nangjan Dkhar said the manager, M. Rathore, assured to hire two workers from the region, with employment set to begin on the first day of next month.
